Hi! My name is Julie Thomson and I am the creator of Julie's Little People.
I am 33 years old and live in Western Australia with my partner and our dog - Sash. I have lived in WA for 3 years, and prior to this I was living in Brisbane, which is where I have spent the majority of my life.
I work full time as an accounts clerk and juggle Julie’s Little People in my spare time. Quite often I’m racing off to the post office in my lunch break, or cutting fabric at 6am before work. I rarely have time for TV, although when I do – I’m usually found watching the news, Cops, Louis Theroux or something on Netflix.
I collect things; shells, cameras, postcards. Unintentionally I collect stationary. I read self-help books and crime/ thrillers. I love reading anything written by Benjamin Law. My magazines of choice are: Frankie, Smith Journal and Extra Curricular.
I love eating all foods. Everything. Although If I had to narrow it down to 3 favourites – I would say – pho soup, roast lamb (with roast vegies) and poached eggs on toast. I have two coffee’s every morning. If I have three – my hands get shaky, I can’t concentrate, feel sick and have to lie down.
I love to travel, and have spent a lot of time doing so. When I was 24 - I went to Europe and spent 3 summers driving a coach for Contiki. Those 3 years were some of the best years of my life. I believe experiences make you richer, and am always planning my next trip. And the next one. And the one after that...
I don’t like when our dog wakes me up at 4:45am, when the hot water runs out in the shower or blowing up air mattress’s. I can’t use chopsticks and am a very bad speller.
And that, in a nutshell, is me!
